In all honesty I have to say that I
wasn't expecting much. I didn't see what a bag of charcoal was really going to be
able to achieve that my store bought air fresheners wouldn't, but I left the bags
for a few days and suspended my scepticism to await the results.
Well, I am happy to admit that I was spectacularly wrong. The bag I placed in
the kitchen, between the litter box and trash can (which contains food that can
start to smell after a day or two) was completely clean and fresh after just 2
days of having the bag placed near it. It was an incredible turn around and
continued to work all day every day. The most amazing thing is that there was no
'masking' of the smell. It wasn't covered by artificial flowers or scents, just
fresh, clean air.
It was a similar story in the other rooms that I tested, all smelled clean and
fresh, and though it's early to say for sure it definitely seems to have
improved the damp situation in the bedroom.
Finally, upon testing my friends smoky house for smell, I have to say it was a
marked improvement. I did only give her one bag, so it wasn't enough to cover
her whole house, but even allowing for that the house was fresher and nicer.
